Powergen Controls designs and manufactures custom PLC control panels and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) engineered to meet the unique requirements of each application. Our control systems are built to UL 508A standards, and all work is performed in accordance with NFPA 79 requirements to ensure safety, reliability, and long-term performance.

QUALITY ASSURANCE AND TESTING

Every control panel manufactured by Powergen Controls undergoes a comprehensive, documented checkout and testing process developed specifically for the project. This rigorous quality assurance program helps ensure that each system performs as designed before it leaves our facility.

Our testing procedures may include:

  • Verification of all PLC output points and hardwired control circuits
  • Continuity and ground fault testing of applicable power circuits
  • Panel power-up and fuse verification
  • Wire continuity testing
  • Input/Output (I/O) simulation and functional testing
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI) verification
  • Terminal torque verification
  • Nameplate and wire identification inspection
  • Instrument configuration and calibration
  • Device simulation using 4–20 mA signals, RTDs, switches, and other field devices

FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TESTING (FAT)

Powergen Controls can perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) prior to shipment, allowing customers to verify system functionality, control sequences, communications, and operational performance before equipment is delivered to the site. FAT procedures are tailored to the project requirements and provide an opportunity to identify and resolve issues early, reducing commissioning time and minimizing project risk.

When requested, customers and project stakeholders may witness FAT activities at our facility to ensure the system meets all design, operational, and contractual requirements before shipment.
